"I believe in the sacredness of the earth and its interconnectedness to spirit,"says Postman.
That is what my art is about. I like to blend technology with the organic in ways that communicate this sacredness, the unification of these mysteries through a kind of techno-paganism. My creative process is a sort of prayer for me, an offering.
His figures are at home in their fantasy kingdoms, composed by taking the initial photos with a 35mm camera and than manipulating the imagery on his MAC; he's been using Photoshop for the past 13 years. Each image takes 10 to 40 hours to complete. Most of the photos are taken at gatherings across America that bring together members of many alternative cultures that want to break away from city life and live in communion with nature.
